Murray Cod (Maccullochella peelii)
The Australian Murray Cod is a species named for is home environment; the Murray River, a river that separates the Australian state of Victoria from its neighbouring state, New South Wales.
It is Australia’s largest freshwater fish, with the largest on record being a whopping 1.8m long.
